Oriental Beef Strips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak, cut in thin strips
    cooking oil
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 garlic clove
    1 c. carrots, sliced
    1 c. celery, sliced
    1/4 c. water
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Cut meat into strips; brown in oil.
    Add water, soy sauce and garlic.
    Cook and simmer for 45 minutes.
    Add vegetables.
    Cover and continue cooking 20 minutes.
    Combine cornstarch and 1/4 cup water.
    Add gradually to the meat mixture, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
    Stir in Parmesan cheese.
    Serve over rice.
