English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks real butter
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. finely chopped pecans
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 Tbsp. white Karo syrup (optional)
    5 to 7 plain Hershey bars
Preparation
    Melt butter.
    Add sugar, water and nuts in heavy saucepan over high heat.
    Stir with wooden spoon until shade darker than light brown sugar.
    Pour into buttered tinfoil, approximately 10 x 13-inches.
    While hot, drop candy bars on top and spread with knife.
    Sprinkle ground nuts on top.
    Cool in refrigerator.
    Break into pieces and refrigerate.
