Ingredients

1/4 c. oil
1 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
Preparation

Blend oil and sugar.
Stir in beaten egg.
Sift flour and baking powder together and combine with egg mixture.
Add vanilla and walnuts to the batter.
Spread in an oiled 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Do not overbake.
Cool slightly. Cut into squares.
