Top-Of-Stove Meat Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. cracker crumbs
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can Campbell's tomato soup
    1/4 c. finely chopped onion
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. salt
    generous dash of pepper
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
    1 tsp. garlic salt
Preparation
    Thoroughly mix beef, crumbs, 1/4 cup soup, onion, egg and seasonings.
    Shape firmly into 2 loaves; brown on both sides in skillet in shortening.
    Cover and cook over low heat 25 minutes. Spoon off fat.
    Take remaining soup and mix with remaining ingredients.
    Pour on loaves and top with cheese slices.
    Cook 10 minutes, uncovered.
