Deluxe Apple Tart(10 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/8 tsp. salt
    sugar
    5 Tbsp. shortening
    6 medium size golden Delicious apples (2 1/2 lb.)
    1 (12 oz.) jar apricot preserves
    2 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Early in Day:
    In bowl, stir flour, salt and 2 tablespoons sugar.
    With pastry blender, cut in shortening, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    With fork, mix in 2 tablespoons cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until pastry holds together, adding more water, 1 teaspoon at a time, if needed.
    Pat pastry into bottom and up side of 9-inch tart pan with removal bottom. Refrigerate.
