Apfelkuchen(Apple Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    8 to 12 apples, sliced
    1/2 c. oatmeal
    1/2 c. butter
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Combine flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, butter, salt and vanilla. Press into bottom of 9 x 12-inch pan, saving some crumbs for top. Boil apple slices in 1/4 cup water.
    When partly done, add 1 cup granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons cornstarch.
    Pour over crust. Sprinkle crumbs on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Makes 12 servings.
