Cinnamon Ring Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 gal. cucumbers, peeled, seeded and cut into sticks or rings
    2 c. lime
    2 gal. water
    1 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. alum
    red coloring
    water
Preparation
    Mix the lime and 2 gallons of water. Add cucumbers. Let stand 24 hours. Drain and wash. Soak 3 hours in ice water. Drain. Simmer 2 hours in the vinegar, alum, red coloring and enough water to cover pickles. Drain. Make syrup.
