Corn Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. fresh or frozen corn kernels
    1/2 c. grated onion
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. sliced green onions (scallions)
    4 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
    toast for garnish (French baguette, directions follow)
Preparation
    Melt butter in a pot; add onion and scallions.
    Saute over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
    Add the milk, salt and pepper and bring to a boil.
    When soup reaches boiling point, add corn and stir.
    Remove from heat and cover to steep 2 to 3 minutes.
