Polish Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Crisco
    2 sticks oleo
    3 c. flour (sift three times)
    1 small can Carnation milk (add water to make 1 cup)
    5 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla butternut flavoring (McCormick flavoring)
    1 c. nuts
    1 (10 oz.) maraschino cherries, cut in half
Preparation
    Cream Crisco, oleo and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each time.
    Add flour alternately with milk, ending with flour.
    Add flavoring, nuts and cherries.
    (Cherries should be well drained and rolled in flour.)
    Bake in greased tube pan.
    Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325\u00b0.
    Cake should start in cold oven.
