Lima Beans And Cabbage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage
    1 can dried lima or butter beans
    4 slices buttered bread, cut in fourths
    1/2 stick butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    black pepper
    1 can evaporated milk
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Cut cabbage in fourths and boil in salted water to cover.
    In another pot, put beans, cream, butter and a little salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then add cornstarch which has been dissolved in 1/2 cup water. Cook until smooth.
    Place a layer of cabbage, then a layer of bean mixture into casserole dish until it is full.
    Cover top of dish with bread cubes and bake until bread is brown.
