Busy Lady Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    vinegar
    4 Tbsp. pickling spice
    4 Tbsp. salt (plain)
    4 Tbsp. alum
Preparation
    Put cubes in jar (1 gallon) and cover with vinegar, salt, alum and pickling spice.
    Let sit for 6 weeks, pour off vinegar.
    Add 8 cups sugar.
