Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter, margarine or shortening, melted
    1 c. light brown sugar, packed
    1 egg
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. fine coconut or chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease 8-inch cake pan well.
    Melt butter over low heat.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in sugar until blended. Cool.
    Stir in egg.
    Blend in sifted flour, salt and baking powder mixture.
    Mix in vanilla and coconut or nuts.
    Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
    Do not overbake.
    Cut in bars while warm.
