Miss Ruby'S Burnt Sugar Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar (melt 1/2 c. of this)
    2 Tbsp. flour
    3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 sticks margarine
Preparation
    Melt 1/2 cup sugar in heavy pot over medium heat.
    In another boiler, combine 2 1/2 cups sugar and the flour, then add milk and margarine (cut up).
    Bring to a boil over medium heat.
    Pour this boiling mixture into melted sugar; stir until well mixed.
    Cook to soft ball stage.
    Cool, add vanilla and beat.
