Applesauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 large apples
    1/2 c. water
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Peel and cut up apples.
    Put in saucepan with water and lemon juice.
    Cover tightly and simmer until tender.
    Add sugar and cook a few minutes longer.
    (If you want smooth applesauce, put through strainer.)
