Pear Honey - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 lb. cooking pears, coarsely ground
    6 lb. sugar
    2 oranges (rind and all)
    1 (16 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    1 lb. shredded coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Peel, core and grind pears.
    Combine pears, sugar and orange and cook to a thick syrup.
    Add pineapple (and coconut) last 15 minutes of cooking.
    Seal hot in sterilized jars.
