Apple 'N Oat Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. chopped, pared raw apples
1/2 c. water
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. each: baking powder, cinnamon, soda and salt
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 c. rolled oats (regular)
1/2 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. melted shortening or cooking oil
Preparation

Combine apples, water and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
Cook until apples are almost tender, about 5 minutes.
Cool while preparing remaining ingredients.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices.
Stir in remaining brown sugar, oats, raisins and nuts.
Add apple mixture, eggs and shortening or oil to dry ingredients; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
