Candied Walnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. walnuts
Preparation
    In a 2-quart saucepan, stir together the sugar, corn syrup and water.
    Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat, until sugar is dissolved and mixture comes to a boil.
    Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, to 235\u00b0 on a candy thermometer or until a small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a soft ball. Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla, salt and walnuts; stir until mixture begins to thicken and turns white.
    Pour onto a well-greased cookie sheet and separate into clusters.
    Cool and store in a tightly covered tin box.
    Makes one pound.
