Hamburger-Lentil Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. lentils
2 tsp. salt
1 bay leaf
10 c. water
1 lb. hamburger
1 c. chopped onion
2 tsp. parsley, chopped
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. marjoram
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 c. tomatoes, chopped
1 c. sliced carrots
1 c. sliced celery
Preparation

Combine lentils (rinsed and drained), 2 teaspoons salt, bay leaf and water. Boil, then simmer 45 minutes. Brown hamburger with onion, parsley, garlic powder, marjoram, salt and pepper.
Combine with lentils. Add tomatoes, carrots and celery. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Makes 3 1/2 quarts.
