Butterscotch Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    3/4 c. milk
    1/4 c. solid Crisco
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a saucepan, mix well all ingredients.
    Bring slowly to a full, rolling boil, stirring constantly.
    Boil briskly for 2 minutes.
    (Boil 2 1/2 minutes on a rainy day.)
    Cool to lukewarm. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    Beat until creamy and thick enough to spread.
    Yields frosting for tops and sides of 2 (9-inch) layers.
