Monte Cristo Sandwich - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 slices firm white bread
    4 slices turkey
    4 slices Cheddar cheese
    4 slices Provolone cheese
    4 slices ham
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of white pepper
    1 c. milk
    oil (for frying)
    raspberry jam
Preparation
    To assemble sandwiches, lay out 4 slices of bread.
    Cover with turkey and Cheddar.
    Add another layer of bread.
    Cover that with Provolone and ham.
    Top with remaining bread.
    Beat eggs with flour, salt, white pepper and milk.
    Dip sandwich in batter and deep fry at 390\u00b0, browning on both sides.
    Keep warm until all four are fried.
    To serve, cut in quarters; sprinkle with a little powdered sugar, if desired, and side with some jam for dipping. Serves 4 to 6.
