Peppernuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. butter (do not substitute)
    2 c. white syrup
    4 c. cream
    2 eggs
    4 Tbsp. baking powder
    12 c. flour (2 c. more more may be added, if needed)
    1 tsp. anise oil
    2 tsp. each: cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, pepper, mace, cardamon, allspice and ginger
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add syrup, cream and eggs.
    Mix well. Sift spices with flour and baking powder.
    Add dry ingredients and anise oil to creamed mixture.
    Mix well.
