Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 (15 oz.) jar applesauce
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    1/3 c. milk
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. dark seedless raisins
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Have prepared a 13 x 9-inch baking pan, greased and floured. In large bowl, mix all ingredients except raisins and nuts.
    Beat at low speed until well mixed, scraping sides of bowl frequently. Beat on high speed 3 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl.
    Add raisins and nuts which have been coated with a bit of flour.
    Bake 40 to 45 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
    Cool on wire rack.
    Frost with your favorite caramel icing.
    Serves 12.
