Easy English Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. yeast
2 c. warm water
1/2 c. shortening
2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
5 1/2 to 6 c. flour
Preparation

Mix yeast in warm water in large mixing bowl.
Add shortening, salt, sugar and 3 cups flour.
Blend well, and beat vigorously until smooth.
Gradually add remaining flour to form a stiff dough, beating well.
Generously grease three (1-pound) coffee cans, sprinkle insides with corn meal.
Divide dough into 3 portions; shape each into a smooth round ball, and place in prepared cans. Let rise in warm place until doubled in size.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
Remove from pans immediately.
When cool, slice.
