Penuche - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/3 c. condensed milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    1/3 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Boil sugar and milk, stirring to prevent scorching.
    Cook to soft ball stage (235\u00b0 to 240\u00b0).
    Remove from heat; let cool after adding butter or margarine.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat until creamy.
    Add nuts.
    Pour quickly into greased pan.
    Makes 12 (1-inch) squares.
