Cherry-O'S! - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. icing sugar
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
    1 jar candied cherry halves
Preparation
    Blend butter and icing sugar until smooth.
    Add dry ingredients and blend well.
    Add almond extract and nuts; mix well.
    Chill dough until easy to handle.
    Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
    Bake for 12 to 15 minutes at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0.
    Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
