Sweet-Sour Pork - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean pork (pork roast, cut into cubes)
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/4 c. water
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/3 c. vinegar
    1 c. pineapple juice
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    3/4 c. green peppers, cut into strips
    1/4 c. thinly sliced onion
    1 (No. 2) can pineapple chunks
Preparation
    Brown pork in shortening. Add water; cover and simmer 1 hour. Combine cornstarch, salt, brown sugar, vinegar, pineapple juice and soy sauce; cook, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened. Pour sauce over hot pork; let stand 10 minutes. Add green peppers, onion and pineapple chunks. Cook 5 minutes. Makes 6 servings. Serve with rice.
