Seafoam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    3/4 c. maple syrup
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    1/8 tsp. ginger
Preparation
    Cream shortening; add sugar and cream again.
    Add eggs, one at a\ttime,
    and
    beat well.\tAdd syrup.
    Alternately add milk and sifted
    dry ingredients.
    Beat well.
    Bake in layers in a 375\u00b0 oven 25 minutes.
    Frost with Seafoam Icing.
