Kosher Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. cider vinegar
    1/2 c. pure salt
    2 c. water
    2 heads dill
    1 clove garlic (1/2 in each jar)
    medium size cucumbers
    1 hot pepper
    alum (a tiny speck no larger than a grain of rice)
Preparation
    Combine the first 3 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
