German Kuchen - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 oz. can your favorite pie filling
    2 cups flour
    1 cup shortening
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs. Mix in flour and salt. Add vanilla. Batter will be thick. Reserve about 1 cup of batter to use later for top.
