Swedish Vasa Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. oil
1 3/4 c. sugar (I use less)
3 eggs or 4 small
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 rounded tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 to 3/4 tsp. salt
3 to 5 apples (depending on size), cored, unpeeled and thickly sliced
1 c. chopped (fine) walnuts

I add 1/2 cup moistened raisins.
