Pickles - cooking recipe

    1/2 c. water
    1/3 c. salt
    6 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
    1 medium (1/2 c.) onion, chopped
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    3 c. chicken broth
    4 new red potatoes, each cut into sixths
    1 tsp. dried sage leaves
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 c. cubed 1-inch cooked chicken
    2 c. milk
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen whole kernel corn
