Swiss Steak Sauterne - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. round steak, cut 1/2-inch thick
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
flour
oil
1/2 medium-size onion, chopped
1 c. Sauterne or other white dinner wine
1 (6 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, undrained
Preparation

Pound steak.
Cut into 6 serving size pieces.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Dip in flour.
In heavy skillet, brown meat in heated oil along with mushrooms and onions.
Add wine and juice from mushrooms.
Cover.
Cook over low heat 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
Makes 6 servings.
