Red Velvet Pound Cake - cooking recipe

3 c. sugar
7 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. shortening
3 c. flour
1 c. milk
1 small bottle red food coloring
Preparation

Blend the sugar and shortening. Add the eggs, one at a time, blending well after each one. Add the flour, sifted with the salt, alternating with the milk.
Add the vanilla flavoring and the food coloring. Blend until color is even.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until done in a large tube pan.
