Butterscotch Nut Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. granulated sugar
    3/4 c. sour cream
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
Preparation
    Melt butter in a heavy saucepan.
    Add brown sugar and heat to boiling.
    Add the granulated sugar and sour cream.
    Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
    Cook to soft ball stage (238\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Remove from heat and let cool to lukewarm (119\u00b0) without stirring.
    When cooled, beat mixture until it is thick enough to hold its shape.
    Add the vanilla and nuts and quickly spread into a greased pan.
    Cool and cut into squares. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen pieces.
