Caramel Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. sugar
    2 c. cream
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 stick butter (margarine)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
    2 c. marshmallows
Preparation
    Put 4 cups sugar, the cream and butter on slow fire.
    While this is cooking, put the remaining cup of sugar in a skillet and caramelize over a slow fire.
    When the mixture comes to a boil, add the burnt sugar and milk to it.
    Cook until it reaches a soft ball when tested in cold water.
    (Cook long enough.)
    Let cool, then add vanilla.
    Beat until thick, add nuts and marshmallows.
    Pour into a buttered dish.
    Cut when cool into about 3 dozen pieces.
    I use the small marshmallows.
