Fresh Green Peas With Or Without Snaps - cooking recipe

2 qt. shelled fresh peas
2 slices bacon
Preparation

Fry 2 slices of bacon in a heavy, 4-quart pot.
Add the fresh peas.
Cook, covered, on medium heat, stirring often.
They will \"steam fry\" for about 20 minutes.
Stir frequently, do not let them burn.
Add salt (to taste) and enough water to cover the peas (or to make the amount of pea \"juice\" that you want).
When they begin to look cooked, turn the heat down more and cook until tender.
