Beef Parmigiana - cooking recipe

1 1/2 lb. boneless round steak
1/3 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg, well beaten
2 to 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. ground marjoram
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 (6 x 3-inch) slices Mozzarella cheese, halved
Preparation

Pound steak to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into 6 serving size pieces. Combine bread crumbs with Parmesan cheese.
Dip steak in egg and coat with crumb mixture. Brown steak in hot oil in skillet. Remove and place in lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish; set aside.
