Cutlets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium sized potatoes
    2 tsp. salt, divided
    1 large onion
    1 lb. finely ground lean beef
    1 egg
    1 tsp. turmeric
    3 Tbsp. dry bread crumbs
    pepper to taste
    5 Tbsp. oil
Preparation
    Wash and boil the potatoes with 1 teaspoon salt until about half cooked.
    Drain; cool, then peel.
    In a large bowl, grate the onion and potatoes.
    Add the remaining ingredients.
    Mix thoroughly until a uniform texture is reached.
