Baked Alaska(Home Ec Special Demonstration) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 oblong layer of sponge or pound cake, about 1-inch thick (yellow cake mix will do)
5 egg whites
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 block brick ice cream (Neapolitan)
Preparation

Cut cake layer about 1-inch larger all around than the brick of ice cream block.
Place on wooden board and set aside.
Beat egg whites with electric mixer at high speed, until foam is fine, and add sugar gradually, beating after each addition, until the meringue stands in stiff peaks.
Beat in vanilla.
