Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. plain flour
3/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. sour milk
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Sift together flour, spices, soda and salt.
Cream together shortening and sugar.
Gradually add molasses to shortening and sugar mixture and stir in 1/2 cup of dry mixture.
Beat in egg. Add milk alternately with the remaining dry ingredients.
Pour batter into well-greased and lightly floured 8-inch pan.
Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
