Ingredients

1 c. vegetable oil
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. pecans
Preparation

Combine first 3 ingredients and beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine flour and next 4 ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Stir in vanilla, coconut and chopped pecans. Pour batter into 2 greased 9-inch round cake pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Cool cake layers in pans for 10 minutes.
Remove and frost.
