Molasses Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Brer Rabbit molasses
2/3 c. lard
1 Tbsp. soda
4 to 5 c. flour
Preparation

Cream lard and sugar together, then add eggs and blend thoroughly.
Add molasses and soda and mix well.
Add flour until stiff enough to roll.
Refrigerate if making them in hot weather in order to handle easier.
Roll out on lightly floured board. Cut out and place on lightly greased and floured sheets.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
