Frosted Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/4 c. molasses
    1 c. hot water
    1/4 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Grease and flour 10 x 15-inch pan.
    Add salt to shortening and mix.
    Add sugar gradually and cream it.
    Mix in egg and molasses. Sift together flour, baking soda and spices.
    Add to first mixture alternating with hot water.
    Bake in floured pan for 30 minutes. Let cool and frost with buttercream frosting.
