Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. ground meat
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped potatoes
1 c. chopped carrots
1/2 c. chopped celery
28 oz. can tomatoes
1 1/2 qt. water
1 crushed bay leaf
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
pinch of basil
1/2 c. raw rice
Preparation

Brown meat and onion slightly.
Add vegetables and water; bring to a boil.
Add spices and rice.
Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
Serve topped with sharp grated Cheddar cheese, if desired.
