Waffles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. sugar (rounded measure)
    3/4 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. milk (add little more if need be)
    1/2 c. soft shortening
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients in bowl.
    Add eggs, shortening and milk. Beat well.
    Stir until smooth.
    Heat waffle baker.
    Bake batter according to the manufacturer's directions.
    Makes 3 large or 6 (7-inch) waffles.
    Be sure baker is hot before putting in some batter.
    Remove when browned.
    Serve with syrup or preserves.
    Add some bacon on the side.
