Homemade Mushroom Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    2 cloves crushed garlic
    1 1/3 c. (12 oz.) tomato paste
    2 1/2 c. water
    2 c. sliced mushrooms
    1 1/4 tsp. dried oregano
    1 1/4 tsp. dried basil
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt or to taste
    1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
Preparation
    In 2-quart saucepan, heat oil; saute onion and garlic until tender.
    Stir in tomato paste, water, mushrooms, oregano, basil, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat; simmer gently, uncovered, for 30 minutes or longer, stirring occasionally.
    Serve over hot pasta.
