Ingredients

1/4 c. vegetable shortening
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream shortening and butter or margarine together until light and fluffy.
Add sugar and cream until smooth.
Add egg and beat well.
Beat in peanut butter and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt together and add to creamed mixture.
Roll dough into balls about 1-inch in diameter.
Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten by pressing with tip of teaspoon or fork.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
