Hot Banana Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. water
    1 qt. vinegar (white)
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. pickling salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    fresh dill
    garlic cloves
    1/2 tsp. alum per quart jar
Preparation
    Bring to boil.
    Wash quart jars; boil lids and rings. Cut hot banana peppers in half; remove seeds and wash.
    In clean hot quart jars, pack peppers, fresh dill, a couple cloves of garlic and 1/2 teaspoon alum.
    Pour hot liquid in jars.
    Wipe tops of jars and seal with hot lids.
    The peppers are tangy, but not real hot. Great with a sandwich.
