White Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. scalded milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 c. cold water
    4 pkg. dry yeast
    1 c. lukewarm water
    22 to 24 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine first four ingredients.
    Put in the cold water. Soften yeast in the warm water.
    Mix all together then start adding the flour.
    I usually add half and stir it in and keep adding flour until it is getting hard to do.
    Put on floured board and knead for about five minutes.
    If it sticks to board, add more flour.
    Put in large greased container and let it rise until double in bulk.
    Punch down and let rise again.
