Basic Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. canned Italian-style plum tomatoes
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/4 tsp. ground pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1 bay leaf
    1 c. chopped onions
Preparation
    Saute onions in olive oil over medium heat until transparent. Add remaining ingredients (except oregano) and stir.
    Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Add oregano and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
    Remove bay leaf.
    Spread evenly over pizza dough.
    (Remember to prick the dough first before applying sauce.)
